DSA Dressing
The DSA dressing attachment pioneered by Fässler and introduced as early as 1970 revolutionised the preparation of the worm type grinding wheel and set Fässler on a coarse toward Global recognition. Since then around 2000 dressing units have be manufactured and sold with tens of thousands of diamond dressing wheels produced to meet the new manufacturing capabilities released with this magic but simple product.
Fässler designed and built in reliability and repeatability by simply having two diamond coated wheels apposed to each other. The tooth geometry is made up of the diamond coating and the pitch is controlled by the distance the wheels are set apart from each other.
A precision taper ensure the wheels mount correctly and run true to within 2 microns of run out. Micrometer style adjusters allow the operator to precisely set the final geometry of the wheels.
With seven points of adjustment the Fassler DSA dressing unit is the most flexible system available today.
Now, and only from Fässler comes the DSA-N long life dressing disk. With the addition of tip protection (the radial slots) the life of the disk has been improved considerably. The life of the tip and the flank are now comparable resulting in more dressings between re-laps and an additional re-lap. The overall effect is a disk capable of producing double the number of gears compared to the Fässler original DSA disk.
Additional attachments can be purchased which allow the outside diameter of the wheel to be dressed to size and where required profiled at the same time the tooth form is generated.
Known as Syndite plates these Polycrystalline Diamond (PCD) plates can be used when the optional Syndite holder (APV) is used.
Again adjustments are made with Micrometer style thumb wheels. When along production run is anticipated the optional radius roll can be used.
Standard diamond dressing disks are available from 0,5 - 8,0 module. Dressing wheels can and are regularly manufactured to customer specific characteristics which can include pressure angles, tip relief, larger modules and 1,2 or 3 radi. Dressing wheels which are monitored and taken care of can be re-lapped by Fässler a number of times, saving money, increasing productivity and maintaining the quality of the ground gear.
DSA Attachments are designed to fit directly to Reishauer, Csepel, Gleason, all Japanese types and all CIS types.
